Funkar International plans a Rabab Revival Spring in Srinagar , Kashmir in April 2013. Habib Wardak, a child prodigy, who grew up i the USA will be teaching Rabab and other musical instruments in collaboration with "Mizrab School of Music" and "Soundkraft Studio."

Kashmir is witnessing a revolution in the music world. Some of the bands that have made their names are "Bloodrokz", "Dying Breed" and ofcourse Irfan and Bilal from the Flamingo Music school. These bands are making their mark by singing in Kashmiri as well. Some of them have plans to revive the Kashmiri literature through music.
Funkar International stands by artists who are passionate about the revival of Kashmiri music, language and culture. We are commited to providing assistance in recordings, technical support and promotion.

We dedicated our first music concert to our beloved Mushtaq Dar Sahib. Mushtaq was a legendary santoor player. He left us for a better place, one year ago. The concert was a voluntary effort of the musicians who held him in high esteem and wanted this evening to be a tribute to his legacy. Funkarinternational released it's new CD " Badam Phulay " on this occasion. Badam Phulay is an instrumental audio CD of Kashmiri musical instruments. Santoor is played by Mushatq Sahib. Soundkraft Studio provided the sound equipment , Funkarinternational provided the space and the rest was magic!

Pathar Masheed is situated in the heart of Srinagar, the capital of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Pathar Masheed which literally means the Stone Mosque is certainly one of the most beautiful mosques in the city. It was built by the Moghul Queen Nur Jahan in 1623 AD.
It is believed that the construction was supervised by the renowned architect and a known Mughal historian Malik Hyder Chaudhary. It consists of nine arches in the style of horizontal construction.
During the Sikh rule in Kashmir, this mosque was closed for worship for almost a decade.It was used as a granary and a horse stable.
At present the mosque is still in a state of distress. It is however open to the public. Pathar Masheed is situated in the heart of Srinagar, the capital of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

Funkar produced it's first audio CD in 1999." Saaz Tih Awaaz" was the first Kashmiri audio CD ever produced. Legendary singers like Hassan Sofi, Raaj Begum and Naseem Akhtar are featured in this CD. In keeping with the mission of Funkar to promote new and upcoming artists , Sarmadiya Shafi was introduced.
Funkar's next CD" Maenzraath" , Kashmiri Wedding Songs was produced in 2007. This CD presents the vibrance, melody and pathos reflective of the Kashmiri Wedding scene.
Again in keeping with our mission of giving new artists a voice , Zaina and Mahnaaz are introduced.Our new venture entails an international production. Funkar has developed a partnership with Lama Jamal a Chicago based group to produce a Kashmiri CD right here in the United States.
